Senior pets need extra attention and is recommended to visit the veterinarian twice annually for a physical exam. The doctor will evaluate heart sounds, detect early periodontal disease, discuss and vision or hearing loss. They will also discuss pain management specially geared for geriatric pets that may be suffering from arthritis. Senior pets are described as approximately 7 years of age and older depending on breed/size of animal.
