Veterinarians

Leslie M. Gage, DVM

Senior Veterinarian/Owner

Dr. Gage received her doctorate from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, where she received extensive training in emergency and critical care and soft-tissue surgery. She worked as an emergency practitioner for 10 years. In November 2014, Dr. Gage and her husband purchased Springfield Veterinary Clinic. Her professional interests are in client education, preventative health, emergency/critical patients, alternative medicine, and soft tissue surgery. Her goal is to "provide personal, compassionate care along with progressive medicine for every patient".

Dr. Gage’s loves that her staff are all such a joy to work with. They all keep her laughing and she looks forward to their frequent staff outings.

Outside of work Dr. Gage enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Kelly, and her two children (Emily and Ryan). She spends most of her time outside of work attending her children’s activities. Dance competitions, travel baseball tournaments, field hockey games and boy scouts camping trip are just to name a few. She often shares stories with her clients about her crazy Labradors, Gabby and Alice. As well as her cats (Cinderella, Steve, Stanley and Stuart). She has a guinea pig and a bearded dragon. She enjoys traveling to Northern Michigan in the summer and winter months for boating and snowmobiling trips.

Lawrence Ehrman, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Ehrman to our team! He has been with SVC since the Summer of 2023! Dr. Ehrman received his doctorate from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. Dr. Ehrman worked at a highly successful general practice for 40 years, of which he was owner for the last decade. The staff loves his sense of humor and brings so much joy to our work day. He enjoys client communication and soft tissue surgery. He gets to know each client, and they will enjoy his up-beat demeanor and the personal attention he provides to you and your pet.

Dr. Ehrman likes our small-town family feel and time for more attention to each patient.

Outside of work, he enjoys beekeeping and woodworking. He often brings us fresh veggies from his garden or baked goods from his supportive wife. He has a soft spot for Golden Retrievers. His pets at home include a Golden Retriever named Aubry, A Terrier mix named Joey. Dobby is a rescue Sphynx cat. And Tish a DSH rescue.

Jennifer, LVT

Practice Manager

Jennifer started with SVC in 2006. She has her Associates in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Macomb Community College, along with an Associates in General Education from Oakland Community College. She excels at customer/client relations, which keeps our day-to-day operation running smooth. She also will never forget a friendly face! Jennifer's education, and skill set allow her to work in all aspects of the hospital. Have comfort in knowing that she is highly skilled and trained to answer questions that you may have. Jennifer is very motivated to continue her education in veterinary medicine and practice management by attending conferences annually.

Jennifer considers SVC her home away from home. She loves our family atmosphere as all clients/pets are welcomed as our family.

Outside of work, Jennifer is often busy running around with her three boys to school, sporting events and family trips to the Detroit Zoo. In her free time, she enjoys baking and crafts.

Rose

Client Service Representative, Head Receptionist

Rose started with our SVC family in 2017. Most days, Rose is often the voice you will hear answering the phones. She is great about making small talk and getting to know each client. Dogs know her as the lady with the treats! Rose is extremely dependable and is a strong asset to our team!

Her years of feline animal rescue knowledge has been helpful when giving advice to our clients.

Outside of work, she enjoys to socialize with friends and have quiet time with her husband and cats.

Susan

Veterinary Technician, Lead Surgery Technician

Susan has quickly become an integral part of our team since starting at SVC in 2021. She is highly motivated and nothing stops her! She is currently attending the Veterinary Technology program through Penn Foster, working towards her License in Veterinary technology. Her goal is to continue to move forward with her education to become a veterinarian. She loves that our practice is smaller, yet we always are keeping up with progressive medicine. She loves her coworkers and the family-feel with our clients as well.

When not working, she can be found outdoors. Horseback riding is a passion for her. She enjoys being with family and friends and attending concerts. She loves German Shepherd dogs, and has a knack for handling the most fearful dogs.

Ashlee

Veterinary Assistant

We welcomed Ashlee to our SVC team in 2023. She is a quick learner, and communicates very well with our clients. She can be found greeting you in the lobby or examination room. She will be educating our clients on the best care for your pet. She is quickly learning skills of a veterinary technician.

Ashlee appreciates her coworkers giving her thorough training and guidance, while also having fun!

When she is not working, she loves books, gardening, video games, and of course her pets!! She has three cats (Mrs. Moose, Wyvern, and Magnolia “Maggie”).

Leilani

Client Service Representative, Veterinary Assistant

Leilani started with SVC in 2023. She is currently enrolled in a pre-veterinary program through Ferris University and Oakland Community College. She is highly organized and is great about seeing what needs to be done and keeping us on task!

Outside of work she enjoys anything related to art. She has two cats, Kilo and Tabby. And a Chow-Chow named Crystal.

Kennedy

Client Service Representative, Veterinary Assistant

Kennedy joined the SVC team in 2023. She has previous experience as a Client Service Representative in emergency and shelter medicine. She is ambitious and eager to learn more in effort to make a difference in veterinary field. She has a special interest in canine training and loves the German Shepherd breed. She has a sweet personality and will always greet you with a smile.

What she likes most about SVC is getting to know the clients in a family-feel setting.

Outside of work she can found reading, drawing, playing soccer, taking naps and picking out her next tattoo. She married her husband in 2022, and they enjoy time at home with their three cats, (Fin, Rogue and their three legged cat, Tippy).

Hunter

Hunter

Veterinary Assistant

Hunter joined our SVC family in Spring 2023. He is a full-time pre-veterinary student at Michigan State University. He caught on quickly to all aspects of the veterinary assistant position. His witty humor and smiling face is always a joy to see in the clinic.

When he is not working or studying for exams, he is playing collegiate water polo for Michigan State university.

His goal is to be a veterinarian and we wish him the best while in School for the 2023-2024 year!!

Emily

Emily

Veterinary Assistant, Kennel Attendant

Emily started her employment with SVC in 2021. However, she has been an integral part of SVC since 2014, since she is Dr. Gage’s daughter! She is a Senior at Grand Blanc High School. In our clinic, she has a special interest in running laboratory tests and examining things under the microscope. She is quick to greet all patients upon arrival with much enthusiasm!

When not working, she is often found reading novels and petting her cat, Cinderella and her two Guinea Pigs (Liam and Zayn). She is a competitive dancer and plays Varsity Field Hockey. She is also a model for a local dress boutique. She has her sights set on colleges in Michigan to pursue genetics.
